I house sit dogs in their homes because I prioritize their comfort and safety. Think of me as your dogs best friend who comes over to give them all the love, exercise and attention they deserve while you are away.

Rate: $100/night

Meet and greet:

Meet and greets can last anywhere from 45min to 2 hours. My goals are as follows:

1) Develop a bond with your pup.

If they trust me, they will follow me regardless of what is happening around us. Developing this trust takes both them observing that you trust me, and me taking the time to bond with them while are in conversation.

2) Understand where their things are in their home, how to administer their medications, and get a feeling for how their demeanor is in their regular surroundings both inside and outside the home.

3) Get an understanding for everything you need me to take care of in your home while you are away, including plants, gardens, local wildlife, packages, house quirks, and everything I need to know to leave your home exactly the way I found it (including washing the sheets!).

Schedule:

Currently, I live and photograph out of my apartment in NW Washington DC. Because of the nature of my work, I can spend all day hanging with your dog as I work remotely from your home and can easily fit your dog's walking and socializing needs into my schedule. That being said, I am a active person with a life who likes to ride bikes, hit the gym, and go out to dinner. When taking care of your pup, I will always plan my social activities around their core needs (food, walks, love and attention), and wont leave them alone for more than 5 hours (LMK if this is an issue) as I personally will not be happy if your pup is not happy.

Experience:

I learned how to be a dog whisperer as a full time dog walker, trainer and sitter in Washington DC when I was between malaria supply chain consulting projects. I currently work remotely which allows me the flexibility to give your fur fam all the love, attention, and walks, they deserve.

I have a decade of experience modifying behaviors for shy, aggressive, and excitable dogs. I focus on building trust, clear communication, acts of affection and reading your pups body language in order to understand and meet their needs.

For my house/dog sitting clients, I love taking the time to bond with your pet in their home. I hate leaving dogs alone, and really respect owners who go out of their way to care for their fur family. I'm pretty flexible with my time and reorganize my schedule around meeting your dogs food/watering/walking needs. If your pup is extra friendly, I'm the kind of sitter that will bring them along as my side kick. If your pup is a little on the shy or anxious side I like to bond with them on their terms. Bottom line, if your pet isn't having fun, neither will I!

Are there any dogs you wont take?
I do not potty train puppies. That being said, I am fine with all ages, breeds, dispositions, and medical needs. I love giving older dogs the love, affection, and attention they deserve, even if it includes carrying them up flights of stairs, cleaning up accidents, making sure they get their meds and giving them all the love the deserve. For my anxious and reactive dogs, its imperative that you are as forthcoming as possible with your pups disposition and triggers, as well as take the time to show your dog that I am someone who you trust. We can do this through a meet and greet where your body language and tone shows your dog that I am someone whom they can trust.
